The Story of Hanuman Ji and Ganesh Ji Meeting – Strength and Wisdom Together
Introduction
Hinduism is full of beautiful stories that give us lessons for life. One of the rarest and most inspiring stories is about Hanuman Ji, the symbol of courage and devotion, and Ganesh Ji, the remover of obstacles and lord of wisdom. Their meeting shows that true power comes when strength and wisdom walk together.
Why Ganesh Ji Wanted to Meet Hanuman Ji
After the great war of Lanka, Hanuman Ji continued his life in service of Shri Ram. His only joy was chanting “Jai Shri Ram” and helping devotees.
From Mount Kailash, Ganesh Ji thought:
“Hanuman is strength and loyalty. I am wisdom and clarity. The world must know that both complete each other. Let me meet him.”
The First Encounter at Kailash
Hanuman Ji leapt across the mountains and reached Kailash. He bowed deeply before Ganesh Ji and said:
“O Vighnaharta, why have you called a small sevak like me?”
Ganesh Ji smiled and replied:
“Hanuman, I am wisdom, you are strength. Both are needed for dharma.”
A Test of Strength and Humility
Ganesh Ji, with a playful smile, asked Hanuman:
“They say your tail can lift mountains. Can it lift me?”
Hanuman easily lifted Ganesh with his mighty tail. But instead of pride, he folded his hands and said:
“Prabhu, my strength is nothing without your wisdom. You are remembered first in every puja. Without you, no effort succeeds.”
Ganesh Ji was pleased with this humility.
The Lost Ramayana Story
Another legend says Hanuman once wrote his own Ramayana on the walls of the Himalayas. It was filled with devotion and divine beauty.
When Valmiki saw it, he felt his own work was smaller. Understanding this, Hanuman erased his Ramayana.
Ganesh Ji appeared and blessed him:
“Your words may fade, but your devotion will live forever in human hearts.”
Blessings for Devotees
Before parting, both gave blessings that still guide us:
-
Ganesh Ji’s blessing: “Wherever my name is taken, Hanuman will also be remembered. Together we remove obstacles and fears.”
-
Hanuman Ji’s vow: “Before anyone remembers me, let them first remember Ganapati. Wisdom must guide strength.”
