As he soared over the ocean to cool himself, a drop of his divine sweat fell into the sea. This drop was swallowed by a Makara (a mystical aquatic creature), leading to the miraculous birth of Makardhwaj—a being with half-human and half-Makara attributes, possessing extraordinary strength.

At birth, Makardhwaj was found holding a radiant gemstone, the Machmani Stone, in his hand. This divine gem was believed to have been embedded in the forehead of his fish-mother, who gifted it to him as a symbol of protection and divine energy.

The tale takes an intriguing turn when Ahiravan, the demon king of Patal Lok, discovers Makardhwaj and appoints him as a minister in his underworld kingdom. Later, during his mission to rescue Lord Ram and Lakshman from Ahiravan’s captivity, Lord Hanuman encounters Makardhwaj.

After an intense battle and an emotional reunion, Hanuman recognizes Makardhwaj as his son and, impressed by his courage, blesses him with rulership over Patal Lok and a life of prosperity and honor.
